I have the pleasure of leading a team of professional businessmen who happen to be very fine Masons.
The projects that they have taken upon themselves rival valor of past ages.
During this year our 149th we will be journeying to Illinois to once again seek a symbolic charter from the Grand Lodge of Illinois. This is planned in October of 2004. The delegation will be dressed in the clothes of the era and will use the currency of the period when seeking the requested dispensation to start Masonic work in the Nebraska Territory.
Our lodge has continued to make history and this year is a very exciting one. Wise Past-Masters coupled with very progressive young businessmen have propelled Nebraska Lodge into the age of communications.
The members have re-acquainted themselves with their obligations to help the widows and orphans by making every effort to contact our widows and orphans of past members and provide support when needed.
We have brought in over forty-three members in the past 26 months most are under the age of thirty. Our new members are very active in the changes that are taking place today.
Fishing, Kit Car club and a Golf Team?
Soon you will see a Masonic BASS CLUB be revived by WB Rusty Restivo and WB John Holzhey. The Tyre Bass as it was known was last active in the late 1980's. It has full sanction of our lodge and will help provide fund raisers for the Eastern Star Children's Home in Fremont, Nebraska. John is the treasurer and Rusty was our secretary for years. John is also heading up a special committee to clean and organize the office.
WB Howard Speck and his son WB Cliff Speck will be involved with introducing a Kit Car Club that will help promote Masonry for all lodges.
These are the future Masters of our lodge . . .
We are in good hands.
